Review of Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) by Nicholas R — 01 Nov 2015
So much fun, and dare I say it, a better romp than the original Avengers movie from a couple years back. The action is pretty incredible, and it nails bringing fun out of the audacity of its components. What probably edges it vs Marvels other super-team film is that it doesn't have the conveniant plot holes that the Avengers had in its climax.
The entire cast shines. Pratt is obnoxious as the dumb human leader of the group. Saldana and Bautista are funny and lethal as the alien killers who lack understanding of the way their teammates talk and think. Cooper may be the best of the group as the fast-talking racoon-genius. Vin Diesel doesn't have to do much, but everyone likes Groot, so there you go.
I really liked Guardians; it was the most fun I had with a movie this year. Don't skip out on this one, especially if you think its a Avengers-wannabe.
