Review of Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) by Steven V — 21 Nov 2017
Guardians of the Galaxy is one hellova comic book movie. Almost all the comic book movies this years were just as very solid, well...almost *cough*Amazing Spider-Man 2*cough*.
The characters were lovable, the CGI was amazing, the acting was great. This was the most funniest and most heart-filled Marvel movie to date.
However, the villain Ronan was a problem. If Marvel's going to set up the Thanos storyline, make Ronan an ally not an enemy. I never wanted Ronan to be the villain, and he and the other villains in this movie were disappointingly underwhelming. The waste of such talent as Benicio Del Toro and Glenn Close was also an issue. The film is also slow and a bit too silly at some places.
Overall, Guardians of the Galaxy was just as incredible as the other incredible comic book films released this year in 2014, proving 2014 was an awesome year for comic book movies.
