Review of Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) by Lyn — 11 Jan 2015
Colorful flick with cartoony characters and action -- I'll bet it was more fun in the theater, especially if you could bring a couple of 11-year-old boys. I'm past that point in life, but noted (and laughed at) some of the obligatory pop-culture jokes aimed more at parents.
(Funny note: Michael Rooker, "Merle" from "The Walking Dead," shows up as a teal-skinned intergalactic redneck!) I gather most people didn't mind that plot was silly, the hero a dope and the raccoon inexplicable .
.. it's an OK "popcorn movie" and achieves that purpose well.
