Review of Grumpy Old Men (1993) by Kenneth D — 16 Jun 2008
They still have it after thirty years of playing off one another. Lemmon & Matthau team up in the first of two in this series. It has great laughs and should appreciated for the mirror image it represents for the two aging veterans of the screen.
Ann-Margaret, a younger player, seems born for this role. She is exciting, adventurous, and wild...compared to her peeping-tom neighbors who have been divorced/widowed for the past decade. The laughs pour in as Burgess Meredith is added to the mix as Lemmon's blunt, stubborn, six-pack drinking, ice-fishing, 90 year old father.
Highly recommended for a good time.
