Review of Grudge Match (2013) by Graham D — 11 Jan 2014
A decently entertaining film that could have been much better. Grudge Match features two good leading performances from Sylvester Stallone and Robert De Niro and satisfactory ones from the supporting cast.
The comedic elements of the film were a hit and miss. Sometimes it was effective, but at other times it was bland. Unfortunately, the film has other problems, mainly with the story. The story is very cliche; almost very plot point and outcome can be predicted before they happen.
Another problem with the movie is that it tries very hard to be emotional impactful, but it just comes off as cheesy and overdone. Though, after the viewer can get past these issues, they can have a fun and enjoyable time.
