Review of Grudge Match (2013) by Todd P — 30 Jan 2014
You'll most likely be groaning during the film. I know I did in this lousy comedy/documentary film starring a talented cast. I say documentary since the film is shot like a documentary, but then again it could be the lousy filmmakers.
Grudge Match puts two old bones to fight one last time and end a long pointless feud. We see what each character is like, but it never is interesting. You could say it's Rocky vs. Raging Bull, but those were great films.
Most of the melodrama surrounding the film is flimsily threaded on the characters with many references and self-deprecating jokes. For Stallone, it worked in the Expendables 2 and Bullet to the Head, but not here.
