Review of Grown Ups 2 (2013) by Aodhan R — 04 Feb 2015

Adam Sandler's first, and so far, ever sequel had to be one of the worst, silly excuses for a bit of comedy endeavour that completely mucked up big time. As soon as the movie opens to its first sequence, which has Adam Sandler and his wife, played by Salma Hayek, awaking to the start of a new day, as it is in most movies like these, it's clear the movie will be noticeably dull when it shortly, thereafter, reveals some of it's new cast members - and it's bad as some of the new cast members are the appalling actors from Disney X-D shows, which made my childhood a living hell. The feeling is mutual when growing up with people who are totally arrogant and hostile towards these kind of shows that are ridiculously overrated and clichéd.

The leading characters, played by Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock and David Spade are the main focus of what's going on throughout, and they're really funny characters and easy laugh at, as the performances are delivered, exceptionally, well. Also, a brief appearance by Nick Swardson was also very good.

The biggest downside that makes this movie totally bad is the new cast members, who are playing silly and underdeveloped side characters - and the biggest let downs and shame of all is the presence of actors like 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin and Taylor Lautner, stepping in to play pathetic roles. Also, the accent of Sandler's wife, Salma Hayek, sounds very stereotypical - and it's hard guess nor is it mentioned what her character's nationality is supposed to be.

As this movie was commonly awful, due to clichés of a plotless following, bad acting (from it's new casting members) and terrible jokes and humour, I would hate to see a 'Grown Ups 3.'.
