Review of Grosse Pointe Blank (1997) by Bentley B — 02 Mar 2009
"Governments and nations, they're really just PR at this point.".
Do I think this movie is brilliant because it's pitched to my generation by one of my favorite actors? Or IS IT JUST PLAIN BRILLIANT?? There's not a wasted second, not a wasted character. Piven, Ackroyd and the ledes are razor sharp in a funhouse that is absurd but as dry as a '56. So good that Hollywood steals Arkin's few scenes and makes them into a whole movie, "Analyze This.".
