Review of Grosse Pointe Blank (1997) by Luke B — 21 Jan 2009
Oh, goodness. There are movies where I'm not in love with John Cusack, and then there a movies like Grosse Pointe Blank. Just like in Better Off Dead, Cusack has great comedic timing that brings out the best in every joke, whether is be golden or not.
The soundtrack is great, especially what is coming from Radio Free Grosse Point (yay for that sly reference, and the fact that for like first half of the movie, John Cusack could be easily being going to a costume party dressed as Elvis Costello).
This movie takes Pulp Fiction and makes it a fun love story, which is weird but totally what they were trying to do. Check out the convenience store decorations, you know I'm right.
