Review of Grosse Pointe Blank (1997) by Ken R — 31 Jan 2009
Much better than High Fidelity, this has a quick, skilful rhythm to it that doesn't let up for the entire film. It feels offbeat in the literal sense, in that it seems to be skipping along on the wrong foot and enjoying itself the entire time.
It's playful, and whimsical without ever being forced or sentimental. I liked it.
