Review of Grosse Pointe Blank (1997) by Tedd L — 13 Mar 2009
In its own way, its a sort of follow up to a teen rom-com. You got the high schooler who finally gets the girl after all the hijinx, miscues, and missed opportunities. The guy ends up having an epiphany and disappears.
This movie follows what happens to this guy 10 years later- he becomes a disillusioned contract killer who questions what he is suppose to do with himself and his life. It's all thrown together as he ends up at his 10 year high school reunion, out to delete someone, and get back with his high school sweetheart.
All this while avoiding killing anyone except for those trying to kill him! The movie has wit, sharp dialogue between characters, and a well thought out plot.
