Review of Grosse Pointe Blank (1997) by Nikolai E — 05 Oct 2009
The writing is slick as hell, and they really make the most of a premise with a lot of potential. Also works wonderfully as a prequel to 'War, Inc.' It's almost infuriating how good the soundtrack is, although it's often a tad literal.
I wish they'd found some use for the CIA agents after their expository value was used up, but this is one of those rare, great comedies that just works in an undeniable way that defies point-by-point deconstruction, and it's clearly a must-see.
