Review of Grosse Pointe Blank (1997) by Philip N — 03 Mar 2012
This is quite a quirky wee movie. John Cusack plays a contract killer called Martin Blank. His nemesis is played by Dan Akroyd and the competitiveness and relationship they have is comical genius. As the story pans out Martin gets an invite to his high school reunion at Grosse Pointe which his secretary is adamant for him to attend.
Martin really doesn't want to go as he doesn't know what he will say to his classmates and especially Debbie his childhood sweetheart as he just left the town after school. However, a job comes up and after speaking with his psychiatrist he decides to attend the reunion.
This film works really well because it's about hitmen and Martin trying to juggle his job and normality. Watch out for all the classic songs and the actors who have gone onto bigger and better things.
It's worth a watch!
