Review of Grosse Pointe Blank (1997) by Kasey C — 08 Jun 2013
Grosse Pointe Blank. Taking into account that the movie was intentionally trying not to be serious and it was a comedy, I liked it a lot. Very clever story and what really made the movie was Cusack and Driver.
Cusack has such a distinguished personality that makes him and his movies incredible. It adds a flavor that very few other actors have the ability to pull off. Even as a hitman he still reminds me of the romantic from Say Anything and the music genius from High Fidelity.
Just a great actor and when Minnie Driver comes out of nowhere and shares some solid big screen chemistry the result is top of the line entertainment and magical creativity. It's got everything. 7.
5 strong, borderline 8/10.
