Review of Grosse Pointe Blank (1997) by Tom K — 19 Mar 2011
Love this movie, not just for Cusack's very watchable performance, but for the plot -- conflicted hit man dealing with targets, spooks, competition, a jilted high school love, and his own conscience. Alan Arkin revives the spirit of his Yossarian character; Aykroyd is perfectly menacing and cartoonish.
Best line:
Minnie Driver's father: So, what are you doing with your life?
Cusack: (hesitantly) Professional killer.
Father: Good for you. It's a growth industry.
