Timothy Treadwell was a total psychological mess, and Werner Herzog depicts his dysfunctional subject with eager parts harsh clarity and respect. The narration is didactic but also warm and insightful.
Like "Tarnation" and 'Grey Gardens" this deals with a character who turns his life into theater to escape the mundaneness of reality and failure.
