Review of Grizzly Man (2005) by Adarsh B — 26 Dec 2008
As documentaries go, this one is extraordinary. This is a collation of the video footage shot by the late grizzly bear lover Timothy Treadwell, who spent a good part of many years alone in grizzly terroriory in Alaska.
Treadwell's end came at the hands (paws?) of a grizzly bear - no surprise there. The man was perhaps a little crazy or depressed, and the director does a fantastic job of peeling layer after layer of the man's psyche, and laying him bare at his most vulnerable moments.
