Review of Grizzly Man (2005) by Daniel M — 29 Apr 2009
A very compelling documentary about a man with the name of Timothy Treadwell, and his fascination with studying, and living with grizzly bears. There is some great footage here taken by Treadwell, who wanted to live as one with the dangerous animals.
You not only get to know Treadwell through his footage, but also through Herzog's interviews with the people who knew him. Then there is that question, was the man insane for doing what he did, or wasn't he? We hear both sides from the people interviewed, but the director leaves it for the viewers to decide.
The film is tragic and beautiful and inspiring. One of the better documentaries out there.
