Review of Grizzly Man (2005) by Greg N — 23 Jun 2010
Fascinating documentary on many fronts. The footage of the bears Treadwell has left us, is amazing and would be worthy of a documentary on their own, but when you throw in his apparent decent into madness where he appears to be happier in the company of bears than people is compelling and sometimes disturbing.
On top of that you have Herzog, questioning Treadwell's behaviour and whether his up close involvement with nature was a good or bad thing.
