Beautiful and haunting at the same time. At it's core it's an incredible character study of one of the most interesting people I've ever heard of. Herzog renders a mostly neutral look at the life of Timothy Treadwell.

My only complaint is in the scenes that were staged seemed so unauthentic and unnatural that they took me out of this beautifully natural world of Timothy's. Regardless of how you feel about Treadwell, no one can argue that he's a huge onion that needs peeling.

There are so many aspects to him, his egotistical confessional self in front the camera between takes (and sometimes during them) and his love for bears. The best thing about the film is the raw footage that Treadwell shot himself , it's exclusivity is what makes it wonderful to watch.
