Review of Grizzly Man (2005) by Collin R — 25 Nov 2011

I am an avid lover of nature and an avid lover of movies, so its only natural that I see a movie like this. To be honest I was kind of afraid to see this movie because I heard it was so disturbing. However I assumed it was in a sense of footage.

When infact its more disturbing due to the content. Now what I mean by that is Tim's demeanor and how basically snapped. Became insane from the 'big world' people do get self obsessed and do become afraid of things which may cause them to not understand them.

Which could result in misplaced hate. Basically what I am referring to is a scene where Tim is with a fox patting it, babying it, then referring to poachers and how they hunt foxs for there fur. I will get this out of the way now and say it is completely wrong that if a human kills a human its murder, yet when a human kills an animal its okay, and even deemed a sport in some lights.

I will say right now if you are one of those people you are pathetic. I am personally sending out a big 'fuck you'. Ignorance is all over the world, and it is without a doubt in my mind that people who think like that are ignorant, which is surprising coming from me because I never judge people.

Yet when it comes to animals that is one of the few situations I do judge. The passion I have for animals reminds me of the passion Tim shows in the film, yet his reached a point of what most would sense as insanity.

Granted there were parts that made me sad because it seemed like he had become corrupt due to the anger the world had caused him. Yet I look at life very simply and raw.. which is exactly what this movie gives you, a very simple, raw and beautiful look into nature, and this mans last few months of his life.

Now when it is said in the movie that it was so surprise that he died it almost makes it bitter sweet. He died being with the animals he loved and the animals that basically saved his life from a self disruptive path of drinking.

Of course the saddest note is his girlfriend that died by his side, yet truly she loved Tim, and we are at peace when we are loved. So it seems like she was at peace because the man she loved was with the animals that he loved, even though it was the animal that killed them both.
