Review of Grizzly Man (2005) by Richard C — 06 Feb 2010
This is not a film about bears, or even about Treadwell. Herzog works the meaning on so many levels that this is more of an exploration of truth - the truth of the human soul and our place amongst the natural world around us.
Moving and compelling from start to finish - I can barely (no pun intended) argue against the tragic irony of Treadwell and his girlfriend's death, nor his conviction and mission, no matter how warped.
Just so interesting and sad that in the end, Treadwell was wrong.
