Review of Gringo (2018) by Jluis_001 — 22 May 2018
Gringo was a film that supposedly should be a comedy but the laughter was absent for me.
Beyond the enormous waste of its strong cast, the script felt quite dispersed, absolutely unfunny and quite uneven.
And that's not the worst, the worst is the film's lenght because the story while stupid can actually work, but the narrative is so slow and weak that the almost two hours this film lasts feel eternal.
Even in more stupid comedies the rhythm is more critical and they offer comical situations in order to maintain the interest and attention of the audience. That doesn't happen in this film and it takes more than an hour to work much better and fluently.
I really thought it would be better but it was actually quite disappointing.
