Welcome folks to the 2007 GRINDHOUSE Arena. I'm Mr. Pink hosting this years double feature film. In the red corner we have Director Robert Rodriguez with PLANET TERROR! And in the Blue corner, we have Quentin Tarantino with DEATH PROOF. Now lets skip the formalities and begin the fight!

Ok back to the real review. After years of collaboration, film directors Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino decide to pay a little tribute to their favorite "B" movies. And if you readers don't know what a B movies are, I'll gladly explain. A "B" movie is a low-budget commercial film, it isn't necessarily considered to be movies like pornos, because pornography films are usually much too crude, but they are generally low-budget. Now I haven't watched a lot of B-Movies so you cant really be sure I'm correct, because I don't have that much experience. But basically this is the type of movie that Q.T and R.R made.

Now Robert Rodriguez is someone that I don't really know. Because I have only watched about two or three of his works(from what I heard, he was a pretty damn good director). But after seeing Planet Terror I can tell that he is pretty similar to Quentin Tarantino. That being both directors have an extensive use of violence and a potent sense of humour. But right off the bat; Planet Terror was better than Death proof. I'm saying this from following my rubric for movies. I mean Planet Terror was funny, it was gory and I had a hell of a fun time watching that movie. Most of the scenes had violence and even if there are scenes where there were no violence, there were some really sick shit to look at, or I'm listening to some funny ass things. For example in one scene Quentin (He had a minor roll in the movie as a Rapist) was trying to rape Cherry (Rose McGowan). And when he took of his pants and showed his cock, his genitals started to fall apart because he was turning into a zombie. His partner then asks him to put his gas mask back on because he was transforming (He took it off so he can talk). The gas mask basically kept him in his human state and without it, he transforms. Quentin then shouts back and says "No Fuck the Gas, Fuck it. Im just gonna have to make this quick" he then walks slowly towards Cherry with his pants still around his ankle and his penis slowly falling. This scene grossed me out but made me laugh so hard.

Now with Death Proof, I cant really say it was bad because it wasn't. The film was really bloody and it was much more thrilling and had more suspense than Planet Terror. The problem with Planet Terror's suspense was that there was non. Everything was predictable, unlike Death Proof. I mean you would think that the killer known as Stunt man Mike (The main Antagonist of the film) was a pretty good guy seeing that he took a shit load of time before he kills his victims. But I also found Death Proof quite boring. The conversations that led up to the deaths were bland and boring. But the Actions and the extensive car chasing was extremely exiting then most of the scenes that happens in Planet Terror.

But the Belt for better movie has to go to Robert Rodriguez. Planet Terror was 100% boring free and had everything that a movie needs to be fun and entertaining. And Death Proof just wasn't there. I'm saying that 50% Death Proof is boring. And being the person I am, I hate boring. But aside from that Grindhouse is a great Double feature film and is a must buy.

I'm giving Grindhouse 100% because there were two movies; you can see my separate ratings somewhere else.
