Review of Grindhouse (2007) by Jacob F — 05 Jun 2011
Grindhouse is a delightfully campy and explosive double feature backed up with gleefully amusing faux trailers. Planet Terror offered Robert Rodriguez's signature over-the-top style with wholesale blood and gore and an ensemble of colorful characters.
As for Death Proof, there was an abundance of Quentin Tarantino's trademark sharp dialogue and what is arguably one of the most enthralling car chases. I find it too bad that the movie flopped at the box office because there is plenty of excitement, humor, and spectacle to behold.
And it is definitely enjoyable if you appreciate the work of the directors at the helm of the two features.
