The whole exercise is so filled with fun and schlocky homage, which in my opinion never wears out its welcome. Personally I found "Planet Terror" more satisfactorily fun and depraved. Meanwhile, Tarantino's dialogue in "Death Proof" is mostly tedious, but once the car chase truly commences, the juxtaposition with what came before (including "Planet Terror") is a wonder to behold.
Don't go in with too many expectations--just EXPERIENCE it, preferably with the most raucous, boozy crowd you can, and you'll have a great time.
