Review of Grimsby (2016) by Jennifer Z — 05 Jul 2016
I am not sure what Sacha Baron Cohen's next move should be as his last few starring films (with real actors) haven't been very good and have been disappointments; maybe a few more supporting roles like in 'Talladega Nights' and 'Hugo'.
'The Brothers Grimsby' is weird as it tries to be an action film and I felt like the action scenes, shot in 1st person, were stupid and looked like that film 'Hardcore Henry' (I dislike these shots tons).
A few of the big comedic scenes were way too over the top for me and weren't even funny, but some of the smaller jokes earlier in the film really worked and I laughed a bunch (those jokes saved this film in my opinion).
Overall, I was disappointed with this film, even though I did enjoy some of the early jokes.
