Review of Griffin & Phoenix (2006) by Christine B — 12 May 2008
Some people might hate such manipulative Hollywood mush, but not me. I liked this one, even though it's about two people who are dying of cancer who meet and fall in love and get to experience the best that life and love have to offer before they die.
I can only hope to be that lucky. Amanda Peet is a wonderful actress and Dermot Mulroney is a very good actor so with them in the lead roles you can actually sympathize with them even though it might be highly unlikely that two people in their situations would really behave the way they did.
However, this is Hollywood folks, so just sit back and enjoy a good cry if you need to and think about what really matters in life...it's not how many toys you have when you die, it's the quality time you get to spend with the people you love while you're here.
