Based on the true story of DJ's character Sean Porter. DJ's Porter is in many ways more of an appealing character than Hilary Swank's in Freedom Writers or Michelle Pfeiffer's in Dangerous Minds (2 films based on similar themes) and the film is arguably more convincing.
Camerawork adds flavor to the film's atmosphere.
