Review of Gridiron Gang (2006) by Garry F — 28 Oct 2008
A by the numbers American football "Drama" that when all is said and done is fairly light weight but perfectly watchable. You'll probably know before you watch it whether youll enjoy it.
Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson gives the best performance I have seen from him as the man who coaches the young offenders from thugs to men. The supporting cast are decent enough to to make the viewer sypathise at times.
Gridiron Gang is a cliche ridden yet pollished effort. It's better than 'Coach Carter' and 'Varsity Blues' but it's no ''Any Given Sunday'.
