Review of Grey Gardens (2009) by Dan B — 22 Nov 2011
Mesmerising documentary from a time when such films were about their subjects not their makers. Not an easy watch, but a nonetheless compelling portrait of the corrosive effects of age, loss, mental illness and (perhaps even) wealth.
Recommended, though by the end you may find yourself gloomily calculating how much life you have left and how you're going to spend it...
