Review of Grey Gardens (1976) by Mallory B — 09 Jul 2007
Saw the musical first (and will be visiting a second time before closing), then happened upon the documentary on Sundance. So. Creepy. Christine Ebersole totally embodies Little Edie. The documentary is rather slow moving, but also completely fascinating and compelling.
I didn't find the movie funny at all, rather, completely tragic and sad. I really felt for the mother and daughter after their "fall from grace" so to speak. A must see for any fan of the brilliant Broadway musical! :).
