Review of Greta (2019) by Acacia — 05 Mar 2019
My friend and I loved this movie! Isabelle Huppert is great as the sweet, caring, psycho Greta. Chloe Grace Moretz is also wonderful as sweet Frankie, a young innocent not used to city ways. When she finds a purse on the commuter train, her first instinct is to return it to its owner.
Roommate Erica (Maika Monroe) says no New Yorker would touch that bag, it could be a bomb! But, Frankie meets Greta and they each find the mother and the daughter they are looking for. Such a sweet story.
They were meant to find each other. Nothing creepy here, folks. Yet. One night, Frankie comes for dinner and makes an alarming discovery in a cabinet in the dining room. We are right there with her when she sees it.
Uh oh. Our hearts begin to race. Get out of there! She does get out of there, but this sweet story is just getting started. Once the train leaves the station, it goes at breakneck speed to Crazy Town.
You want to get off, but you can’t. I see Greta as the new Freddie.
