Review of Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990) by Jona D — 29 Dec 2010
Wow.This sequel knew it couldn't live up to the first one-so it basically made fun of it!It even has a Bugs and Daffy cartoon at the beggining to show that this movie should not be taken seriously.
Let me break down everything this movie is good for: First off,the Gremlins mutate themselves with chemicals and random mixtures in a laboratory, and those are: A bat Gremlin,a spider Gremlin,a Gremlin that can talk, some kind of Vegetable Gremlin (backround character),a phantom of the opera Gremlin,a Wicked Witch Gremlin (background character) and taller than usual Gremlins! Sheesh! At one point, the Gremlins melt the tape of the actual film, and then show a weird, fluffy bunny kind of film on the screen, and Hulk Hogan just happens to be in the cinema, and he shouts at the Gremlins to turn the projector back on!Another time,a movie reviewer is giving the first Gremlins a negative review,so of course the Gremlins don't like that so they.
..well.....kill him? One of the best parts of this movie was when the bat Gremlin flies through the wall and leaves the batman logo behind. The only downside to this movie is that it doesn't have the charm of the first movie, but that's a good thing for this movie-because the only thing people want to see from a Gremlins movie,is the Gremlins destroying everything around them! This movie does just that, and that's why it gets 100%.
