Review of Gremlins (1984) by Alison O — 21 Dec 2011
Joe Dante's mischievous Christmas classic takes an age-old plot formula and transforms it into inventive, memorable family fun. The film's gags are hit-and-miss and at times, its screenplay is unbearably cutesy, yet the movie's gleeful Christmas charm and riotous slapstick humour still hold the ability to capture the hearts of viewers of all ages.
Sweet, uproarious and phenomenally entertaining, Dante's classic creature feature is festive family fun at its near-best.
