Review of Gremlins (1984) by Troy F — 06 Nov 2010
While very over-the-top goofy at times, Gremlins proves to be a highly entertaining horror comedy. When a boy's dad brings home a strange creature for his son, it proves to be a friendly innocent creature, but also proves to be responsible for the chaos of evil Gremlin creatures that wreck havoc on a peaceful town as they destroy the area and harm civilians.
I must admit the PG rating certainly isn't right, I mean I couldn't blame parents for feeling this movie is too violent for their own kids, cause the material really is too violent and dark for kids.
I'd say it's more PG-13, but whatever. The movie is just silly, humorous, and violent, but wow is it entertaining!
