Review of Greenwich Village: Music That Defined a Generation (2013) by Tracy F — 08 Mar 2013
This is a great doc for people who were around during tat time period but it lacks a bit of framing or additional explanation for those who weren't. This was a time that was vital to the music industry but the film fails to give you a real sense of time and place unlike the far superior "Troubadours" which covers the same time period in the California music scene.
Still, the music is amazing and some of the behind-the-scene stories were fun to listen to, I just wish that it were more focused.
