Review of Greenberg (2010) by Gabriel B — 25 Nov 2010
Noah Baumbach is back in form after the rather disappointing (in my opinion as if that needed stating) Margot at the Wedding.
Ben Stiller does a fantastic job playing, or rather downplaying the neurotic, obsessive compulsive, lethargic and highly abrasive title character.
Throughout the film we love and hate him as his acidic personality corrodes the relationships around him both old and new. What little effort he does make to be affable or honest is quickly crushed in outbursts of painfully hilarious selfishness and self loathing.
