Review of Greenberg (2010) by James R — 14 Jan 2011
This movie was not what I thought it would be. Yes, I know it's not a typical Ben Stiller movie, but I just couldn't get into this film. There's a lot of story here...about a man readjusting to life after going to a mental institute...but man it was boring.
There are no real laugh out loud moments, it's not really meant to be funny. The main character Roger Greenberg played by Ben Stiller is super unlikeable...he is very cold and harsh toward everyone and is quite literally a douchebag.
The relationship Greenberg develops with his brothers assurance Florence is sweet at times, but so awkward. There isn't a lot of great parts to this movie and I found it hard to imagine people who actually liked this...
Overall, this movie is super slow paced, not very funny and in all honesty didn't accomplish very much anything. It ends abruptly and just didn't hit me. Skip it.
