Review of Greenberg (2010) by Joey S — 23 Nov 2013
Although its eponymous protagonist is one of the obnoxious and unlikeable characters I have come across in a very long time and the central romance requires suspension of disbelief, Greenberg benefits from wonderful performances from both Ben Stiller and, in the role that makes the movie so enjoyable, Greta Gerwig, along with a script peppered with dark humor and clever dialogue.
It's ironic that the character of Roger Greenberg is the least likable part of Greenberg, but thanks to Gerwig, Stiller, and the smart screenplay, Greenberg is ultimately a surprisingly great dramedy from director Noah Baumbach.
