Review of Green Zone (2010) by Cheyne L — 11 Apr 2012
Green Zone is a stock movie in every way. It has a stock plot, stock politics, stock characters, and stock dialogue. It doesn't believe in shades of gray. It has characters who are evil and selfish and only do bad things, and characters who are heroes and only do great things.
I frequently cringed at lines and scenes from a million other movies. It's not that I expect originality from every movie I see, but I at least expect a genre film done well. Something I've seen before that is effective at what it is trying to do.
Green Zone is not that movie. If you've seen any of the Bourne films, or if you've had CNN on at least once since 2003, this movie isn't going to teach you anything you don't know already.
