Review of Green Zone (2010) by Jose H — 09 Jan 2011
If you like action adventure, conspiracy theories and a movie where one of the "good guys" is the CIA (I Know its shocking) then this is for you. One of the special forces guys with the fu manchu moustache is Jason Isaacs, a bit of a chameleon who has done much work but also remains less known than some of his contemporaries.
I kept staring at him wondering where I had seen him before. One was a cable series called "Brotherhood" where he played a gangster, Michael Cafee, and another Harry Potter. This feature film kept me engrossed for the full 1 hr.
55 minutes and is loosely related to real events that occurred. The dismantling of the Iraqi Army by the civilian bureaucrat who was ensconced by Washington was a major political blunder which led to the insurgency on a larger scale than it would have been otherwise.
In this movie Greg Kinnear plays a fictional military intelligence, sleaze bag doing the deed which wasn't how it happened but clearly shows the internecine warfare that occurs between agencies.
