Review of Green Zone (2010) by Olli H — 21 Jun 2011

Chief Roy Miller (Matt Damon) is charged on the task to find WMD (Weapons of Mass Destruction) in Iraq in 2003. After another mission fails because of bad intel, he starts to question whether the WMDs exists at all. In his quest for the truth he makes friends in high places, such as a CIA operator Martin Brown (Brendan Gleeson) and a Wall Street Journal reporter Lawrie Dayne (Amy Ryan), but he also makes enemies like the Pentagon's representative Clark Poundstone (Greg Kinnear) and the Special Forces guy Briggs (Jason Isaacs), who does his dirty work.

The movie is heavily peace oriented, even though the scenery is on war. The issues of the Iraq War and it's legitimate reason's are put to question with actually quite good screenplay, even though this movie heavily rest on Matt Damon and his action scenes. In fact, if you watch the trailer & poster of this movie, it is very "Bourne" related, even though this isn't a solo act for Matt Damon.

So in the end, "Green Zone" was a solid war-action-thriller with good questions about the Iraq War, companied by good action and a decent screenplay.
