Review of Green Room (2016) by Alejandro C — 29 Jul 2016
I was surprised at how this movie turned out. It wasn't at all what I expected. It was very gritty and violent, and yet I loved the look of the film. There are those "ok come on" moments where the story treats a serious injury like a paper cut, but all in all it was actually a pretty entertaining thriller.
I wouldn't put this in the horror genre, despite it's billing. Rather it's a well crafted action film with good performances all around. I didn't find Patrick Stewart to be as scary as I was led to believe, but he is very good in this role.
I would love to see him play more villains. Recommended if you're not too squeamish.
