Review of Green Room (2016) by Collin C — 03 Jun 2016
An interesting twist on the home invasion thriller with an interesting treatment, and a more believable threat than most in the genre. Nonetheless, it does end up being something less than the sum of its parts.
It's commitment to naturalism gives it veracity at the expense of involvement, with the early scenes in particular feeling like something you overheard on the bus more than something you witnessed.
The limited characterisation means that viewers will likely end up appointing their own protagonist based on whether they consider Arrested Development or new Star Trek the more significant cultural achievement of the current century.
