Review of Green Lantern: First Flight (2009) by Matt Z — 20 Jul 2009
I was really looking forward to this being a Green Lantern nut, and I am a touch dissapointed by GLFF.
It looks incredible, and I love all the redesigns they've done on the various characters and alien species (though OA wasn't that convincing.).
My problem was the story itself. Ignoring what I know about Green Lantern, it took quite large leaps in logic and didn't flow particularly well.
The explanation behind the rings and how they were powered wasn't very interesting, and at no point does anyone use A LANTERN!!!
But this was by no means crap. It's worth a look, if only for the cool Weaponers of Qward.
I hope that when the live action film is made, they don't ignore the emotional spectrum, and make the story slightly more sensble..
