Review of Green Lantern: First Flight (2009) by Jenn T — 20 Jul 2009
While I preferred the version of Green Lantern's origin as told in the first Justice League animated movie, this wasn't bad. I've never really been into Green Lantern as his powers seem kind of hokey (only limited by his imagination, yet he usually just makes huge hammers and flywatters and stuff).
The most overtly sci-fi DC Superhero, First Flight is almost Biblical in scope but is let down by rushed storytelling (Hal Jordan becomes Green Lantern before the opening credits). Animationwise it's occasionally stunning, but characterwise it's a bit of a letdown.
Not bad, but nowhere near as good as either Justice League movie.
