Green Lantern First Flight is a fantastic action based, sci-fi space opera. It captures the dynamics of everything a GL tale should be, while maintaining the heart of the mythology. It does take liberties with the story, but that's to be expected.
It is still very a much a great introduction for the character which is done justice by First Flight. Green Lantern is a space opera, an action based sci-fi adventure that captures the imagination of its audience, presenting a larger than life hero for anyone who has ever been afraid of someone, something, or themselves.
The purpose is to deconstruct those confinements, and to come into one's own; to be fearless in the face of life as it unfolds. Green Lantern First Flight has its minor flaws, but those are restricted to its departure from continuity.
Overlooking this, it still captures everything a Green Lantern story should be.
