Review of Green Lantern: First Flight (2009) by Sergio E — 20 Aug 2009
Enjoyable, but short of some of the other Warner Premiere animated movies.
This film lacks too much to do The Green Lantern justice. There is not enough character development, the battles are pretty tame (until the end), and everything could have been a lot darker (hardly deserves its PG-13 rating). It feels like a cross between Star Wars and Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, and overall too much like a kid's movie.
Even so, the animation was pretty good and there were some pretty creative things done. I just hope the live-action film will prove to be more epic.
