Review of Green Lantern (2011) by Sue W — 14 Apr 2013

Just when you think WB maybe, just maybe, figured out how to make a good DC adaptation, they give you Green Lantern. On top of that they let Ryan Reynolds, yeah I know the guy that ruined Deadpool, take on the role of one Comics most famous and well liked superhero.

I should of known right away from the trailer, this would suck, but again I foolishly thought WB learned from Batman and Robin, damn I couldn't have been more wrong. The acting, story, writing, and direction is just incredibly hard to watch, thankfully it's just shy under two hours, so from my perspective it wasn't a waist of my time.

Green Lantern is so loud and bland it's an amazing contradiction. I wouldn't put it with the worst comic book adaptations of all time, but it's fairly close. Unimpressively flashy, and as the critics brilliantly said, overproduced, Green Lantern is a complete waist and a huge lost chance to get some sort of DC universe going.

For the love of fuck WB have you seriously not learned anything from Chris Nolan and his team.
